Now that I am done with the test, I can give some advice.

1. Analyze what went wrong - Is stamina your problem? Do you have your fundamentals clear? GMAT tests a few concepts over and over. If you don't have clear fundamentals - you will feel like you hit a WALL when faced with a difficult question.
2. Understand your weaknesses and strengths - Yes it is important to know where you stand. Only when you know how good or bad your are in certain areas - you can improve.
3. Work on your weaknesses RELENTLESSLY - Practice a lot of questions. Analyze your mistakes and learn from them. Keep an error log and go over the log several times.

For learning the fundamentals lots of people have recommended Manhattan GMAT guides. I used the word translations and Sentence Correction guides and I don't regret buying them at all.

Reschedule the exam today, so you are forced to study for it. Make it at least 5 weeks from now. Any less, and you wont have time to really improve - plus, you can't do less than 4 weeks anyway. I suggest 5 weeks if you are CLOSE to your target score, more if you are far away.

Take a few days off. Decompress. Come back to it.

thanks for all the suggestions guys. i am quite discouraged at this point, so i do feel like i need to take a couple weeks off to recuperate.

i was not at all close to my target score, so i will need at least a month to study. i agree with you rhyme -- i should set a test date for myself. hopefully that will push me to study.

when i gain enough momentum to step into the boxing ring again, i'll be sure to come back to gmatclub for more advice! thanks again!
