When 18 litres of milk and water solution is mixed with 20 litres of milk and water solution having 75% percent of milk, the resultant mixture has 48% milk. What is the percentage of milk in the first solution?

A. 12%
B. 14%
C. 16%
D. 18%
E. 20%

Quantity of milk in total solution = 48% of 38 (18+20) litres = 18.24 litres
Quantity of milk in second solution = 75% of 20 litres = 15 litres
Quantity of milk in first solution = 18.24-15 = 3.24 litres
Percentage of milk in first solution = 3.24/18*100 = 18% (Hint - Square of 18 is 324)
