Thanks, I'll speak to an Admissions Consultant. I'm planning on applying this fall, for Fall 2017 intake.

Hi nima9023,

Let's see what the Admissions Experts have to say. Be practical with your discussions - ask what they think if you stick with the 690 and apply with that score. If they're insistent that you cannot possibly get an invite to any of the Business Schools that you plan to apply to... then you should continue to study. The reality is that you're 'in the range' of what all of those Schools are looking for, so now it's a matter of making your OVERALL application as well-constructed as possible.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

I took the GMAT three times. See scores below.

Aug 2015
680 - 45Q/38V

Oct 2015
660 - 43Q/38V

June 2016
690 - 45Q/39V

As you can see from my scores, I did not improve much even after months of hardcore studying. I'd like to think that my overall profile is pretty competitive (high GPA in engineering from top engineering school, good work experience, leadership, community service), so I don't want my GMAT score to be the thing that prevents me from getting into my target schools (HBS, Sloan, Booth, Kellogg, Haas).

At this point, I'm tired of studying for the GMAT and I feel like I've exhausted all my resources. On practice tests, my scores always fell between 680 - 720 on any given day, so I feel like I just plateaued out.

Does it look bad to take the exam again for a 4th time? Should I attempt the GRE instead? Maybe I should just forget about it and focus on other parts of my application. This exam has pretty much taken over my life for the past year and I can't guarantee I'll improve the next time.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Obviously the way you prepared before did not work. How did you study for the last 2 attempts? Did you ever take a course or hire a tutor? While more expensive than a book-only approach, these two methods will significantly reduce your study time and probably yield better results.

There are many good resources out there that you haven't used. You'll be surprised.

You have reached 690.

Maybe what you need is a different perspective that will help you rise higher.
I would say be cool , just explore around maybe the idea will come naturally.
