C for few reasons:

1. different from ... so A is out.
2. have and were not in correct tense. so BDE are out.
3. each is more specific. when they are seperated, they become each.

so C has all above.

They-->members of married couple ( Hus+wife), one person of the couple --> each(hus/wife).
 When ever we have to put a pronoun for couple it has to be - plural.

The subject is THEY for underlined portion. So their is appropiate.

I don't believe that "they" is the subject of the underlined portion. "they should divorce" and "each should marry.." are two parallel clauses. The subject of the last part of which "their" is a part of is "each". Hence it should be "his/her" and not "their".

Anyone else with an explanation please pitch in..

they(members of married couple) should divorce and each should marry someone quite different from their previous mate => IC.

Basic construction,
DC,IC

if what you say is correct the sentence would look something like =

they(members of married couple) should divorce    ,    and (conjuctor)  each should marry someone quite different from their previous mate .

If what you say is correct , then "and" will behave as a conjuctor and the contruction will be
IC,and IC.

But since there is NO COMMA before and I belive it is a single cluase.

“Have discovered” brings the tense to present perfect tense – were usage is incorrect – eliminate B, D and E

A discovered that they are incompatible, they should divorce and marry someone quite different than  they should diverse and   marry implies married pair is marrying someone – change the meaning of the sentence – eliminate it ]

C. discovered that they are incompatible, they should divorce and each should marry someone quite different from
