I want to register sometimes in december, when should I start scheduling an appointment with the GMAT for that month? (I live in Seattle)

I would recommend calling the 800# to find out if seats at the testing center near you fill up quickly. Mondays and Fridays are the first to go.

i got a seat 2 weeks before i took it, and there were plenty of choices for day of week, and location. i guess it depends on your locale.

Funny. I live in Seattle as well (err...Kirkland).

I'm planning to start GMAT studying this Friday, then all-day Saturday...then pretty much everyday from here on out. I work full-time so maybe 2-3 hours of study per weeknight.

I'm looking to take the GMAT in August.
