very clever question and equally clever solution.

initially i thought, it should be 1/2*1/2*1/2........thats wrong

There are 2 ways for this to happen: HHH or TTT

HHH - 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/8
TTT - 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/8

Together, the prob is 1/8 + 1/8 = 1/4.

Two ways:
HHH -1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/8
TTT - 1/2 * 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/8

Total = 1/8 + 1/8 = 1/4

Two scenarios
HHH
P = 1/2*1/2*1/2 = 1/8
TTT
P = 1/2*1/2*1/2 = 1/8

Hence Total = 1/8 + 1/8 = 1/4
