This varies from school to school. Some programs say that they aren't really considering IR yet, while others are already taking it into account. Generally speaking, you're probably fine with a mid-range IR score. A particularly high or low score might be noticeable, but you shouldn't really get dinged if you have a great GMAT score and just an average IR Score (4 or 5). So your best bet is to prep enough not to get totally destroyed, but to save most of your effort for the main event (Quant & Verbal).
