work experience
I have total 12+ years of sailing experience, including 7 years working in a senior management level in dry cargo vessels.
I have worked on various types of dry cargo ships such as Bulk carrier, car carrier and containers. Ranging from 60K to 200k deadweight ships. Operating and maintaning Propulsion machinery ranging from 15k KW to 90k KW.
I took over 2 new ships from ship building yard. 1) 65k deadweight bulk carrier of turkish owner 2) 180k bulk carrier of Japanese owner. In both tenures i have had a great deal of exposure While working with top level management, ship builders and equipement manufactures.
I have 6 years of experience on modern day electronic engines and machineries for pollution reduction as senior most engineer.
My job scope includes following
Management of 4 M's onboard
1) Man 2) Machinery 3) Man-power 4) Material.
I will give brief deacription of each
MAN- Managing crew is main job of a team leader on board. I have always worked with mixed nationalities Asian, European Etc. I have worked in multi cultural enviorment working along multi national crew. Man managment Primarily includes managing fatigue, stiching individuals into a team, gauging the areas of expertise of each individual etc.
2) Machinery- As head engineer i have to ensure each and every machinery is operating in most effecient way. Any down time will lead to off-hire or may incur a deficiency from regulating authorities.
In current era, where global focus is in energy efficieny and pollution reduction. Technologies are changing every day so are the machineries installed onboard. Thus as a head engineer it is extremely important to train everybody onbaord to handle and maintain machinery in most efficient way.
3) Man-power. Now a days vessel is being manned by minimum crew to reduce the operating cost onboard. Each and every crew has to be very foccused and attentive to perform the given task efficiently in time. As a head engineer i have to manage man-power in most efficient and effective way to complete tasks onboard.
4) Material- ship supplies are limited so is the inventories or required spares. Thus as a chief engineer managing spares and requisition of spares within budget is one of the important task to do.
Besides , a leader in every industry has to motivate people to bring out maximum efficiency and cultivate productive enviorment. This task onboard vessel is one of the hardest. As Crew onboard feels socialy isolated and restless. Thus I have to innovative ways, to bring my team together and motivate each and every member of it.

I am an audiophile, its a core way of saying i like to annalyse the music in a critical way. As a hobby i have built headphone amplifiers with fellow mates in audiophile group.
