Hi Guys,
Need a bit of guidance from you guys. So I work in a startup which has been around for 4 years now and employs 40 people. We are also about to raise series A funding early next year. I have been working here for 3 years as a sr. bdm
I am planning to attend college in 2021 so have a bit of time (but not much though). The dilemma what to do in the down time?
Option 1: I have been offered the position of head of sales here. Will have a team of 8 working under me
Option 2: Take the position of bdm in some bigger, more recognized MNC
Now, with the amount of time that I have at hand, and considering the fact that I do need to bolster my profile for colleges as well, I want to pick the option that will suite my needs the best. On one hand, I get the better position, on the other hand, I get experience from a better company along with their stamp of employment on my profile.
I would love to get some guidance and support from you guys here.
Some more integral information -
Work Experience - 2 and half years
Internship Experience - 1 year
Degree - BBA Hons. 4 year course
Location - India
GPA - 8.0 with a bronze medal on graduation
GMAT Score - 720 (Expected. Am prepping for it. Got 690 on my first attempt.
Come Colleges in Mind - Rotman, NSU, ISB, IMD, INSEAD, IE

It's not the name of the company that matters, it's the quality of the work you do. All bschools in short prefer demonstration of leadership skills . I would suggest you go with the option 1 where in you'll be managing people. "managerial" work ex matters a lot more than the brand name. Goodluck

Start up and big firm has their own advantages and disadvantages. If I would have been in place of you, I would have sticked to Start up. You get to learn more cross functional issues/responsibilities irrespective of your expertise area whereas it takes long time to do such thing in big firm. I am sure you must be performing great for which you have been offered the head of sales position. I have the same opinion as 'Mr. Abhi077' has mentioned that Quality matters. Let's say you remain in start up, then it is beneficial to show your leadership skills and getting credited for advancing business and improving your managerial skills. Obviously, you will remain in comfortable zone in current company due to rapport and already knowing how the work is done. Utilize this time in preparing for GMAT, researching schools, joining events if possible, short listing schools, networking, etc..
