I'm applying to UK and European programs, including IESE, and I'm wondering how to best handle the citizenship aspect of my profile.
I was born and raised in the US but currently reside in Canada, having gone to school here and I'm now working here. I have been in Canada now for most of my adult life.
Will applying to IESE as an American put me in a larger, more competitive pool of applicants? How would you handle this situation?

Yes I think it would but I’m not sure. You always want to apply with the citizenship that is less represented, I think the percentage of Canadians applying is lower than Americans just by the fact that the MBA is more popular in the US. But you might have more insight into that than I do. If we look at raw numbers definitely would be more Americans. For IESE, my feeling is that you should apply as a Canadian, however for the UK schools, because Canada is more UK oriented than the US, this might be different. Same with French schools. Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer but hopefully this gives you some way of framing the situation. I don’t really see any harm in actually calling admissions with that question. They are motivated to have a diverse applicant pool, from the perspective of citizenship.
