Hi JyotiLalwani,

The process of applying to (and ultimately attending) Business School will require a big investment of time, money and energy on your part, so you really should make sure that the Programs that you apply to match your career goals/needs. There are a variety of factors that go into selecting the Schools that you'll apply to, so here are some other things to think about:

1) Is there a particular company that you want to work for or industry that you want to work in? Certain degrees are more appropriate than others if you have a specific career goal.
2) What do you want your MBA to do for you?
3) Do you want to go to School full-time or part-time?
4) Are you willing to relocate? Are you comfortable with working through a program that is primarily online?
5) Are you going to be applying for scholarships?
Etc.

It's okay if you don't have answers to any of these questions just yet, but you really should try to define all of the important variables in terms of your goals, so that you can tailor your entire approach to getting into the best School that matches what you're looking for. Have you thought about when you might want to apply to School? If you have, then you can 'reverse engineer' your calendar and determine a logical time to take the GMAT (which you can then use to decide when you should begin studying).

Hi JyotiLalwani,

Quite frankly, your question has a very broad scope :-)

In order to shortlist the program most suited to you, you will need to provide greater clarity on why you wish to pursue an MBA and what are your career goals post the same. Of course, other elements such as preferred geography, GMAT score, and your overall profile will also play a major role in helping you identify your options :-)

Feel free to seek a discussion :-) Happy to help!

Good luck!

Most MBA programs require a GMAT score and some allow for GRE.

If your goal is do as best you can on the GMAT exam, we invite hear stories of many non-native English speakers of Indian descent who have gone through our program at GMAT Pill:

While each person's learning approach can be different, we specialize in thought process - where to focus your attention and where not to focus your attention in every part of every verbal and quant questions - from passages to answer choices to question stems.
