I took the GMAT two times.
My first score was a 690 (Math 43 67% and Verbal 41 92%). I got a 4.5 on the AWA.
I then took the GMAT a second time and did worse! I got a 670 (Math 44 69% and Verbal 37 80%) but got a 6.0 on the AWA.
Which score should I use? I would think the 690?

Both scores will be reported to the School and no, they don't care about AWA a bit, so on the application, put 690, but the school will receive both of them.

Sine they see both of your scores, I think it does not matter what you will put on your application form. Anyway, they will take a look at your GMAT record, which will have two scores, and two grades for AWA section.
