I'm aslo using the official books 2016 . What would you suggest ?
One or two (at most) test prep companies for concepts and practice. All the official material that you can get your hands on (OGs, verbal and quant reviews, question pack, exam packs).

Hi andi.aliu,

It sounds like you're just starting out. Is that true? Have you done any studying so far?

If you're just beginning, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a bit of practice first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the general content and question types first, then that's fine - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Yes , i'm juste beginning and I think that i need some help to organise my study plan . I'll take a practice CAT test this week end. Actually I'm studing at the university ( Liège in Belgium, ) . For my master I would like to go to brussels ( Solvay Business school ) but I need to reach at least 650.
I'm planning to take the GMAT at the end of february but this is not the deadline for Solvay ( it's in april ) . I wil retake the gmat in march if I don't reach at least 650,( and in april if it's possible ) . I can study all the day in monday thursday , friday and the week end . I can work 2-3 hours on the other days of the week. As i have also to study for the university , I can only work 4 hours during my free days .
However I'll have my examn in january (for the university ) , that means that I won't be able to work in Januray . ( until 23 january ). I'll have one month after my exam before taking the gmat . I would like to make a study plan for 1 month and a half now .

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi andi.aliu,

If you're going to find it difficult to study for the GMAT in January, then that "time off" might hurt your progress. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores - meaning 3 months in a row. If you study for about 2 months (starting now), then take 3-4 weeks off, then some of your Quant and Verbal skills could fade during that time. As such, you might need to push back your Test Date (into March or April) to hit your score goal. We'll have a better idea of the amount of work that you'll need to do - and the amount of study time that all of this will take - once you have that first CAT score.
