I have a query

Why cannot C be correct e.g.
if we take option B that itself says 2x this means x - |x| = 2x this also implies that 2x > x

Assume x = 2
case 1: x - x => 2 - 2 = 0
case 2: x + x => 2 + 2 = 4

Thus 4 is greater than 2. Am I missing something?

In case 2, it would be 2-2
If X=2,

If X=-2
It would be -2-2=-4
And -4<-2
So C is correct in any scenario.
I hope I was able to explain correctly.

As we have |x| in the equation so we will have two cases
-Case 1: x ≥ 0
=> |x| = x
=> x - |x| = x - x = 0 => A is POSSIBLE
If x = 0 then x-|x| = 0 = x
=> E is POSSIBLE
-Case 2: x < 0
=> |x| = -x
=> x - |x| = x - (-x) = x + x = 2x => B is POSSIBLE
If x = -1
=> x - |x| = 2x = -2 < -1  => D is POSSIBLE


So, Answer will be C
