Given
In this question, we are given that
- • A table showing the survey results of 250 companies, based on the actions that affect computer security
To find
We need to determine
- • the amount by which the average (arithmetic mean) dollar amount of losses due to the actions cited exceeds the median dollar amount of the losses
Approach and Working out
Total amount of losses = 156 million dollars
- • Hence, average (arithmetic mean) dollar amount of losses due to actions cited (A) = 156/7 = 22.29 million dollars (approx.)
• Median dollar amount of losses (B) = 16.6 million dollars
Therefore, A – B = (22.29 – 16.6) million dollars = 5.69 million dollars (approx.)
Thus, option B is the correct answer.
