Which of the following is equivalent to \(\frac{a+b}{2}+\frac{a-b}{3}\)?

a) \(\frac{2a}{5}\)

b) \(\frac{5a}{6}\)

c) \(\frac{5a+b}{6}\)

d) \(\frac{5a+2b}{6}\)

e) \(\frac{5a-b}{6}\)

Are you sure the OA is correct?

Yes, it is.

\(= \frac{3a+3b+2a-2b}{6}\)

\(= \frac{5a+b}{6}\)

Thus, answer will be (C) \(\frac{5a+b}{6}\)

Let’s simplify the given expression:

(a + b)/2 + (a - b)/3

3(a + b)/6 + 2(a - b)/6

(3a + 3b)/6 + (2a - 2b)/6

(5a + b)/6

Answer: C
