Solution

Given:
    • The equation of a given line is 3x + 4y = 5

To find:
    • Among the given option choices, which point lies in the given line

Approach and Working:
If a point lies on a given line, then the coordinates of the point will satisfy the equation of the line.

Checking with the given options,
    • For the point (1, 2), 3x + 4y = 3 x 1 + 4 x 2 = 3 + 8 = 11
    • For the point (-1, 2), 3x + 4y = 3 x -1 + 4 x 2 = -3 + 8 = 5 (Satisfies)
    • For the point (2, 1), 3x + 4y = 3 x 2 + 4 x 1 = 6 + 4 = 10
    • For the point (2, -1), 3x + 4y = 3 x 2 + 4 x -1 = 6 – 4 = 2
    • For the point (3, 0), 3x + 4y = 3 x 3 + 4 x 0 = 9 + 0 = 9

Hence, the correct answer is option B.

Answer: B
