Hi there,
Thanks for your post.
As I see it, you have the following strengths going for you:
-solid investment banking/work experience & quant skills
-respectable GMAT, solid academics
-unique interests and involvements
-banking & commerce experience as opposed to IT, helps differentiate among many Indian applicants (though keep in mind there are a ton of investment banking applicants generally
)
Potential weaknesses or challenges:
-demonstrating more than just the quant/commerce/banking skill (since that is relatively common among MBA applicants). In other words-- working on showcasing how you are unique in a competitive admissions environment.
-showing more people skills, communication skills, etc.
Unknowns:
-examples of leadership? Makes a big difference to these top programs you've mentioned
-essays/recommendations/interview
-more about what you are looking for in a school (see our free download at
https://info.mbamission.com/Selecting-Yo ... ram-E-Book on choosing schools)
In terms of your chances, I would say simply because there are so many strong and unique applicants out there, the schools you mentioned are likely all reach schools. It doesn't mean they are out of reach, with very compelling essays, and there are no glaring weaknesses keeping you out per se, it's just very competitive and schools are looking for individuals who each bring something unique to the class. So if you definitely want to gain acceptance, you could add a couple of schools outside the top 5 or so in the rankings; maybe look at Darden, Duke, even NYU or Anderson for better chances but think about what you are looking for in a school. Let us know if we can help further.
Good luck!
