Can somebody explain when it is correct to use which/that. I've looked up some stuff on the internet about this, but it is still not clear to me.

Which refers to a group as a whole and that refers to a specific subset of that group.
e.g- Rice, which is high in starch, is mostly avoided by people who diet.
The rice that we eat is par boiled.
Although this flaw is not tested on GMAT but its always good to know the distinctions
