I have been doing some research, but can't seem to find the answer to a question that is puzzling me.
I know that the tests are adaptive, but does the type of question determine the overall score. For example, are the DS questions worth more than the PS questions? Are the SC worth more than RC or CR? I know that the dificulty of the question determines the overall score, but one might be able to focus his/her study program based on the outcome of the question.
No question type is worth more points just by itself. Harder questions are worth more, regardless of type.
Also, since question types are mixed, it is hard to get to hard DS questions, let's say, if you can't handle hard PS questions. GMAT really rewards a well-rounded score both within each sections (PS/DS or CR/RC/SC) and also within test (Math/Verbal).
