A. $$100m$$ B. $$120m$$ C. $$150m$$ D. $$160m$$ E. $$170m$$ It is a straight forward question we are given average velocity in terms of distance and time. Distance = 1500 m and time=10 minutes. When they both are travelling we have to add the distances covered by both. So the distance covered by A and B combined would be average velocity. So Average speed =1500/10 = 150 m/min So distance traveled A and B combined is 150 hence C is correct Math Revolution GMAT Instructor Joined: 16 Aug 2015 Posts: 8445 GMAT 1: 760 Q51 V42 GPA: 3.82 Re: While person A walked 200m, person B walked 100m. Then we have Va = 2Vb and 10Va + 10Vb = 10(2Vb) + 10Vb = 20Vb + 10Vb = 30Vb = 1500, and Vb = 50m/min. Then Va = 2Vb = 2(50) = 100m/min. Then the distances walked by persons A and B in 1 minute are 100m and 50m, respectively. So, the total distance = 100 + 50 = 150. Therefore, C is the answer.
