While some industry analysts propose..., others suggest- so A and B are out.
attempting, reducing, and calling- only E maintains parallelism.
Look for Conjunctions and/or multiple descriptions.The list of things of the various suggestions/proposals by analysts shows that lists are being tested.
Rule and Fix:
A list must be of all nouns or all verbs and must be balanced, the list in this case contains one part that is not underlined (some industry analysts propose ..., others by suggesting, ... and still others by calling) and two parts that are. However the list is not currently balanced, since all components are not the same verb form.
POE:
A, B, and D all have parts that are not parallel because they dont use a present tense verb or include a preposition (by).
Chunk and Compare:
Compare C to E. The difference is for decreasing versus to decrease, for decreasing is unidiomatic
