Hello Mate,

If you are preparing for the first time, I would suggest to follow the lean manufacturing model. Try to complete one topic(SC, CR, RC, PS, DS) at a time and questions associated with it.
If you are a retaker, and are well versed with the basic concepts, then you can focus on developing operational strategy (covering multiple topics in a day).

Best wishes.

In your opinion is better to study half day Quant and half Verbal for example?

thanks
Not half but place your time equally in all areas. Focusing on one will be a mess in long run. I know it from personal experience.
To the most you can do is, spend more time in weak areas and less on strong but do solve every question type.

I would like to have some advice, I started preparing for the GMAT with Manhattan Prep (Interact)

1) Do you think it is better to do the whole quant part and then move on to the verbal one or do quant one day and one day the other?

2) Do you think it is better to do the theory first and then start with the exercises or together?

thank you very much, :-)

Hey gmatxsurf,

I think it would be better if you just do one topic at a time. This will help you to master a specific topic and will help you plan your prep in a better way. An ideal way to plan our prep is to:
  • Learn the concepts – one topic at a time (Start with your stronger area)
  • Learn the right methodologies to solve the questions of that particular topic (most important)
  • Start taking sectional quizzes and make sure to solve the questions using the methodology learnt
  • Make sure to move to the next topic, only when you get at least easy-medium questions right.
  • If you have less than 60% accuracy in any topic, identify the reason behind the struggle and work on improving it.
  • Once you move to the next topic, it is important to maintain the momentum that you had in the previous topics. Many students tend to forget the concepts they learnt once they start focusing on new topics. This is the time when OG comes into picture. You can practice a minimum of 5 questions of a particular topic everyday so that you do not lose touch with that topic.
  • Once you are done with all the topics, start taking mocks at regular intervals and see the score pattern
  • Once you start getting a consistent score, you are good to book a slot.

Hope it helped! Make sure you focus on learning the right methodology which is the most important step in the process of preparation. All the best :)
