Correct option D

Whooper swans were sighted yesterday evening flying over the island of Inch;
it seems the white flock arrived from the north and are heading southwestwards.
Flock meaning : a number of birds of one kind feeding, resting, or travelling together (Singular)

Sentence Exam on:
- SV Agreement.
- Tense (arrived and headed are past tense), heading is a present participle - ongoing.

Eliminate A, B and C for Singular Flock, with plural verb usage
(A) flock arrived from the north and are heading southwestwards
(B) flock arrived from the north and are heading southwest
(C) flockhave arrived from the north and is heading southward

Eliminate E: Tense Error, arrived past tense and is present tense, heading present particple
(E) swans arrived from the north and is heading southwest

(D) flock arrived from the north and is headed in a southwesterly direction - Correct
