Hi. In the gym at focus edition GMA has tried to make scores most spread out so to speak. In the previous edition, the maximum score was 51 and if you get 50, it was just one point less and 92nd percentile and if you got 49, it was 78 percentile so there was really no room or variety in scoring because so many people scored 49 or 50. So they’re trying to make the scoring less bunched up at the high-level in quant.

Congratulations on an awesome score by the way. You’re doing really well and likely will get the maximum score on the real test because it seems most people get a few hard questions and make most mistakes on careless issues.

I think getting a score such as 88 or 89 will depend on the difficulty of the question you miss. If it’s a hard question, that’s the score you’ll get and if it’s an easier one then perhaps you get 86...

Hi boat32674,

As many have already stated, the score drop was likely from getting an easy question wrong. That said, you still have a great score, so you seem to be in a great spot for test day. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
