Why Gmat is testing Geometry as we are not using it any where in MBA.

I have a question regarding the quant GMAT Syllabus.Why GMAT is testing geometry as we are not using it any way in MBA.

Well... you never know what specific skills or elements you will be using during or after your MBA. I seem to be of the opinion that geometry is helpful knowledge to have. It helps test your spacial thinking and visualize things. And those two elements of critical for developing a strategy and being able to grasp it and those to elements of critical for developing a strategy and being able to grasp it.

At the same time GMAT doesn’t test things that you will absolutely need during your MBA. They just test your ability to learn certain material into take the test. So what it’s worth, it could’ve been frog anatomy .

If you were going to rely on that knowledge for your test, they wouldn’t give it a five year lifespan.

Hello tkalyan567 How do you not use Geometry on GMAT test ?? You have specific quant questions that rely on Geometry rules and relations. As for MBA or after MBA life and career, you never know when you will need to use it in real life situations. That goes for all Math.

You are currently in Geometric shape (room). You life on planet that is something close to ball. Geometry and math as language of the universe/nature is everywhere. Solving math question helps you to create fast and efficient logic thinking that you can apply later to anything that requires pondering. Math can seem abstract but it is not, it is highly applicable. If there was no math you would not be able to read this post. Recently I got question on interview for Data Scientist position, to answer when 4x4x4 Cube falls in the green paint and you cut it into 1x1x1 smaller cubes, what is the tallest tower that you can build from 1x1x1 cubes, without seeing green paint from any angle ? In another words knowing Math translates to $$$....you just don't see it yet

You seem to be unfamiliar with the goals of the GMAT test. 
 
The test is not designed to examine you on subjects that you will use during your MBA/Masters/PhD. That is a false premise. 
 
Instead, some goals are: 
 
To provide a common standardized platform to compare applicants on some basic high school-level materials that everyone is assumed to have learnt. 
 
To provide a basis to project whether the applicant will successfully complete courses and/or the program. 
 
In both of the above goals, the GMAT, like the GRE, LSAT and the SAT are successful. There is strong correlation between decent scores on the test and applicants' subsequent performance in classroom subjects. Also, applicants can be similarly compared on common basis. 
 
Going beyond those goals, the purpose of a test is not to examine people only on subjects they will need in their profession. The goal of education is to broaden minds and hearts so that students can become productive contributors.
