Hi,
I have been steadily following my study plan for a G-day in less than 2 months. On Friday, I took the Kaplan diagnostic and got a 690. One of my buddies, who is very smart and is prepping for GMAT currently, got about the same in his Kaplan diagnostic so I felt good with my score. I then read the Kaplan and PR test strategies and decided to take a REAL CAT after that.
This evening, I took Kaplan's CAT #1, with the AWA sections, and got a 630 (Q-23/37,V-27/41). Even though I have read some hints here on the forum that Kaplan CAT scores are low for many people, I'm a bit disappointed and confused now.
I got my first 11 questions on Q correct but then they started becoming incredibly tough and I bombed a series of DS questions towards the end. I have difficulty believing that the real GMAT has similar questions.
In verbal, I really got glazed eyes when I read the RC essays. Is the real test going to be this tough for the verbal side? If so I have a serious hill to climb.
What is with this Kaplan CAT? Do they score differently? I thought that if you are incorrect in the last few questions but ace your first many, you should not lose many points as opposed to the reverse situation.
I'm really confused now.
BTW, does anyone have any tips on improving the stamina? My performance really plummeted at the end of both Q and V sections.
