Why save endangered species? For the general public, endangered species appear to be little more than biological oddities. A very different perception is gained from considering the issue of extinction in a wider context. The important point is that many major social advances have been made on the basis of life forms whose worth would never have been perceived in advance. The passage starts with a question : Why save endangered species?
Public view endangered species as another biological entity. But, a different perspective provides a view which is much more wider than meare biological entity.
The important point is that many major social advances have been made on the basis of life forms whose worth would never have been perceived in advance.
Every life form has a hidden potential which is still unearthed or put to use. That’s is also one of the reasons why we should care about endangered species. A seemingly insignificant life forms can have unforeseen and major benefits for society.
the example given is : Rubber comes from rubber plant ( living plant ) - which is utilised to produce more diverse rubber boots and washer boots.
The correct answer is D. Plastic is a unique product derived from petroleum and petroleum by-products.
Rest of the options mentions about life forms as example. plastic, which is derived from petroleum, a non-biological source. Therefore, it does not fit the pattern of the other examples that emphasize the potential hidden value of Life forms and its unearthed potential.
