Hi everyone,
I’m a bit confused about how to approach this and would really appreciate some guidance.- First GMAT attempt (Sept '24): 645
- Second GMAT attempt (Dec '24): 585
- Tried the GRE as well (just to see if the format suited me better): 314
Some of the schools I’m targeting require reporting all scores, and I’m concerned about how the drop might be perceived. I’m planning to apply in Round 1, but I’m wondering:- Should I apply with the 645 and attempt a retake only after submitting R1 applications?
- Or is it worth taking another GMAT attempt before R1—even if there’s a risk the score could drop further?
How do adcoms typically view a downward trend or fluctuating scores? Would really appreciate any insight from those who’ve been through this or know how schools evaluate such situations. Thanks in advance!KarishmaBbbScottTargetTestPrep If the schools are specifically asking for "ALL" scores, then you should check with the schools how it will impact. With GMAT Focus, one usually shares only those scores that one wants to share. The schools don't automatically get to see all scores. That is one of the advantages of Focus - Freedom to share what you want to. With GMAT Classic, when all active scores used to be visible, schools would either consider latest or greatest. In some cases, we heard of averaging too. But now, for the most part, that issue is sorted. You should check with the adcom of the specific schools. They are usually helpful.
