It's possible there are a few more applicants this coming year than in the recent past. The said could have been said about the Covid-19 pandemic for the 2020-2021 application season and, going back, the 2008-2010 Great Recession stretch.

As noted above, you can't do anything about it other than to delay your own application. If you have flexibility in your career path and want to wait another year, that could theoretically help (if you are making the same assumptions), but you also don't know if it could get worse for some reason. Application trends vary year to year and, as noted above, sometimes in dramatic fashion.

Something also to note particular to the circumstances surrounding tech, is that many tech/VC/startup folks don't tend to be high on the MBA as finance and consulting people would do during economic downturns. So, it's possible, they seek other types of employment rather than pursuing a graduate degree. That might mitigate your concerns about a huge influx of applicants this year.
