Hello, I recently received an offer from MFin program and I noticed that most of the MBA program will do background check for the admitted students. I’m wondering whether master program will have the same process or not?（My school is included in UC system)

imlyj5 - The short answer is yes. While the admissions committee will definitely perform an in-depth background check of your academic and other relevant facts, some claim that the schools go as far as checking the personal social media handles to get a sense of the various interests and leanings of the candidate.

imlyj5 - Ideally, the background has began right after you submitted the applications. Given you have received an admission, I personally believe you do not have any "major threat". I am curious to know whether you are concerned about the admissions committee finding any specific information about you during the background check?

In fact, my supervisor during the internship resigned two months ago. I ’m thinking about whether I should provide the supervisor ’s new contact information to the school ’s admission team. If my background check has been completed, then I will not need to update this information.

imlyj5 - I do not think you need to provide the school with any new unpromoted information at this point in time. Please wait until you hear anything from the school.
