That's great to have the recommendation all set! No, I don't think it'll hurt you that you don't have big brands already...I just think it'll help to make the move more "explainable" in a sense to the AdCom. We've worked with plenty of applicants who don't have big brand names on their resume - in some cases, experience at a small company can be a really good thing because you get a lot of exposure and responsibility - which it sounds like you did if you have a good relationship with the CEO. If you'd like to chat further as you make your decision, or if you have any other questions about the application process, feel free to sign up for a free consult here: https://www.mbamission.com/consult/

Thanks that helped a lot. Would I include the new job on an MBA resume or exclude it and just talked about it in essays/interviews?

Hi there, if you've started the new job when it's time to submit your application, then yes I would include it on your resume. Not doing so might seem like you're misrepresenting your current status. And then you'll want to write an Optional Essay explaining the job switch. Hope this helps!
