Dear Yuvraj2003,

Grades is one of the "tangible" components Business Schools look at while evaluating the Academic fitment of an applicant. However, the breakup of the grades don't really matter a lot. Rather, if the grades demonstrate a steady upward trend, then it shows growth, which is a key evaluation criteria.

Additionally, with a superior GMAT / GRE score, you can compensate for a lower than avg. undergrad CGPA.

Wish you all the best !!

I just finished Bcom Hons from Hansraj in Delhi University. My CGPA till 5th sem was 7.9, 6th sem results are expected. Our first 3 semesters were online and my cgpa was 8.78 . Our remaining 3 semesters were offline and my cgpa on the 4th and 5th semester was 6.86 and 6.5. hoping for a better result in the 6th sem. Can my low offline grades seriously hamper my chances at ISB??

Your overall CGPA should end up well over 7.5 and that is absolutely fine for ISB. No need to worry here.

My offline exams cgpa is lower than 7 on both counts. My online exam cgpa was higher. Will they look at them separately?

Hi Yuvraj2003,

It is unlikely that they will look at the scores separately. In the event that you do not get an interview invitation/admit, your offline gpa is unlikely to have been a standalone reason for it. Profiles are evaluated holistically.

Hello Yuvraj2003,

Apologies for the delayed response but we hope this finds you in time still.

You can offset your GPA with a good GMAT score. So, your low grades will not seriously hamper your chances. :-)

In case you would like to discuss your profile in greater detail, please feel free to get in touch with us.

All the best!

Hi Yuvraj2003, following blog will answer your question:

Are poor/average academics a show-stopper at ISB?
