Just curious, does anyone know if it's acceptable to split your verbal, quant, and AWA to show the highest score you've gotten in each? I just retook the GMAT and did slightly better overall, but if you take my verbal score from last time (45 vs 41) and utlize my Quant and AWA from this test (45, 6.0), my test score shoots up to about a 730 by most calculators, rather than a 700.
If it's not appropriate for me to split them on my application, do schools split them and take the highest when they see your history? I know each school can have a slightly different approach, just wondering if that's a common practice.

I would like to know the same as I am aiming to retake for the second time. School said I can skip the AW part, which was 6.0 for the first time. So if I retake, just get a Q and V score and than use the best overall for the 2 combined?

It varies from school to school, but all 5 schools I applied to (Haas, UCLA, Stanford, Kellogg, HBS) had it broken down like this:
TEST 1: Q/V/AWA
TEST 2: Q/V/AWA
And so on. I have heard of a few schools that will let you mix and match but can't remember offhand which ones.
