What is the 700 point challenge?
Optimus Prep’s 700 point challenge is our unique way to demonstrate our superior GMAT approach that can help ANYONE who is willing to follow the steps in our intensive program score over 700 points.
We will raffle off a 34 hours online private tutoring package combined with our 60+ hours on-demand GMAT course and 16 GMAT simulations FOR FREE (original cost is $2,525). One student will be selected and then will start his/her two month preparation with our guidance. The preparation will start in the beginning of February and should be finished by the beginning or middle of April.
The student has to invest 3-4 hours of study time each day and to write 2-3 weekly posts about his/her progress on gmatclub.com. He or she will receive instructions on every aspect of preparation and get access to 16 GMAT simulations to observe his/her personal progress between the lessons. This course consists of four key phases:

During the entire preparation period of about two months the student has to be very focused and willing to share experiences with others in the forum.
If the student is not following the schedule (for example: not taking all GMAT simulations or not watching all on demand videos), Optimus Prep will immediately select another student and restart the challenge!
This is only for students who are serious about a high GMAT score and their futures.
Students who score 700+ spend on average about 100 hours in preparation. Forget about offers like “Score over 700 in one week” or “5 simple tricks that make you score over 700”. They are fake and simply not true. If you want to succeed in such a challenging test as the GMAT, you have to put in the time and effort and also get professional support! This challenge is the optimal opportunity if you really want to achieve your target score.

I think you are correct, Private Tutoring has not been a mainstream feature/product offering due to the high cost. It is the Cadillac of preparation, however, and you can't beat a personalized approach studying one-on-one.
