With y dollars, 5 oranges can be bought. If all oranges cost the same, how many dollars do 25 oranges cost, in terms of y?

(A) \(\frac{y}{5}\)
(B) \(y\)
(C) \(y + 5\)
(D) \(5y\)
(E) \(25y\)

Cost of 5 oranges=y dollar
So, unit cost of an orange=y/5 dollar
Hence, cost 25 oranges=25*y/5=5y

Ans. (D)

Cost of 5 oranges = y dollars
Cost of 1 orange = y/5 dollars
Cost of 25 oranges = y/5*25 dollars
= 5y dollars
So, answer choice is (D).
