How do you translate the following into an algebraic equation.
There are twice as many red cars as green cars?
Is it r = 2G? If so, please let me know.

Yes. It is correct.
You can use the following for common reference :
'N as many X as Y' it translates to : X = N * Y
'N more X than Y' it translates to : X = N + Y
'N less X than Y' it translates to : X = Y - N
