Hi fellas ,

I have one doubt like what should be the expected work experience before enrolling for an MBA course in CANADA , as after finishing your MBA for placements your previous work experience has a weightage.

I have 1.5 yrs wrk ex so far but planning to enroll for 2017 mba so would be having around 2.5 yrs wrk ex before enrollment.

Guys please guide here. :lol:

Hi fellas ,

What do you do for work and for what company?
Also what is your undergraduate background?

Typically, students will have 4-5 years of work experience so you would be below average but depending on your experience, you may be able to go earlier. I would need more info before advising you. For instance, consultants often go younger and have success at getting post-MBA jobs, but if you come from a traditional corporate finance role and have 3 years or less, you would be slightly disadvantaged recruiting for jobs vs classmates who have 4+ years.

I work in Infosys as a software engineer.

I have done computer engineering.

Also i'm planning to join a startup firm by April as it would provide me some more responsiblities to add on to my profile.

In that case, I would wait another year and get some more experience. You could apply now, but your profile would be better with one more experience at the startup, especially if you can get involved in more aspects of the company besides engineering.

Why the rush to go to business school? With so little experience, what do you expect to get out of it? A lot of the value gained during business school comes from the ability to apply real world experience to the learnings in class. Also, many of your classmates will have much more experience than you. Those are also the folks you will be competing with for jobs.
