After a thorough review, I found out that most schools require at least 3 years of work experience.

I will be applying with 2 years of work experience to these schools:

NYU Stern
London Business School
Imperial College London
City University of London - Cass Business School
Fordham University
St. John's University

I aim high in GMAT, and my work experience is from Deloitte, one of the Big-Four companies.

Is it totally IMPOSSIBLE to get into these schools with 2 years of work experience?

Generally speaking no. You will need to however demonstrate increases in responsibility, leadership, etc in your essays to help mitigate this fact.

Thats said, as far as I know, having two years experience would not preclude you from acceptance.

Some schools are more strict about this than others and I admit I'm unfamiliar with the requirements at each of these schools, so additional research is a good idea.

I'd suggest you contact the schools and plum ask them.

I am not sure about those schools which you've listed but I know certain schools which do admit applicants with less then 2 yrs WE. But then, you would need to demonstrate exceptional strength in other areas of application. Obvious ones are Very strong GPA,GMAT and then lots of leadership/team stuff in extra-curricular/community activities. Even, if you've'd a WE of an year, make sure you've shown all such qualities in your work.

Lots of US top schools admit applicants who are college grads or have less than 2 yrs WE but that's a very very small % of the total admits. It is extremely tough but if you do your research and identify your 'fit' schools ( which also claim and have proved that they accept students with less WE), then y not go ahead? :-D

P.S: I am an young applicant with 1 yr WE and 'm applying for Fall 2007.

Thanks for the answers.

Turns out that the British schools require more WE than US schools. Imperial College and City University noted on their websites that they require at least 3 years of WE. They are off the list.

Just when I thought international students can get into these schools much more easily...
