Hi
mbaMission,
I was wondering what you'd suggest or have seen others do concerning ability to do/attend in-person interviews. My goal in getting my MBA is to pivot out of my current industry and into a similar, but new career. Accordingly, I'm not planning on telling my current employer of my grad school plans until I've been accepted to and chosen a program, lest I rub people the wrong way or put a "doesn't plan on staying here" target on my back...
I've also already used most of the limited vacation time I'm allotted... a few different weddings over the summer, two long weekend trips, and that pretty much zapped my vacation time. How can I interview at schools in other cities if I don't have available vacation days and don't believe it's something that my employer would be willing to grant an exception for, seeing as how the point of asking for the exception would be to pursue an opportunity to leave and never come back... lol.
Are most programs flexible, willing to do weekend interviews or willing to do video interviews? I was looking at the Stern application process page, and it says that they only do in-person interviews in NYC... something I just don't see how I could afford or manage to do Monday-Friday. Any advice?
