Rate - A= 1/3 and Rate of B ; 1/8
combined rate = 11/24
so for half tank ; 11/24 * x= 1/2
x= 12/11

We can create the following equation:
1/3 + (1/2)/4 = (1/2)/n
1/3 + 1/8 = 1/2n
Multiplying by 24n, we have:
8n + 3n = 12
11n = 12
n = 12/11
Answer: A
