target score...around 730 (95+ percentile).
my history...
took the gmat 10 years ago and scored a 680. then forgot about it for 10 years.
bought a few books and studied for about 2 hours over the course of one week to get familiar again.
took gmatprep and scored a 660.
study began...however, i work full time so my definition of studying involves about 2.5 hours each night from 9:30-midnight after i put the kid to sleep, etc.
1 week later took powerprep and scored 720 (49 / 40)
1 week later took
manhattan gmat and scored 700 (47 / 38)
1 week later took
manhattan gmat and scored 690 (45 / 39)
however, i am getting very nervous. i kind of rushed the gmatprep and powerpret CATs and finished the quantitative with about 5 min to spare and verbal with about 12 min to spare.
on the
manhattan gmat, quan is kicking my arse and i ran out of time with about 7 questions left. since i'm here to practice problems more than get an accurate test result, i pressed the pause button to actually try to work out the problems. my estimate is that i took about 15 min+ to finish quantitative. verbal still finished about 3-5 minutes before the deadline.
my
manhattan gmat scores are not really indicative because i paused so my actual score would be lower.
i went through the OG and manhattan SC book and in all my verbal books, i do really well in critical reasoning but manhattan really made them tough. same with sentence completion. reading comp i tend to do ok.
i only hope that manhattan cat is a lot harder than the real one or i'm screwed.
my test is on 9/15. i'm saving my gmatprep and powerprep for closer to my date. i'll take the powerprep #2 in a week or so and take gmatprep the first week of sept. until then it's just more manhattan and kaplan CATs for me...
not much of a point to this post...just taking a short break from studying.
