I'm under bit of confusion here with the below essay question
Describe a situation or job in which you felt you had some responsibility and tell us what you learned from that experience?
Well i think I can really write well about a situation in my personal life ( outside work ) that has made me realise about my worth and responsibilities.
Do you think its a good idea to write about this or do you suggest to write about those things that happened at my workplace.
Writing personal story..is it worth taking the gamble ??

I think it depends on what you've written about in the other essays. If you've focused on work experiences, you can use this essay to highlight your interests outside work and how they have affected your decision to pursue a MBA/why this school or any other tie in to a central theme. The way I divvied up my topics for Tuck was to focus on work ex. for the first two essays, an experience with a new NGO in the third, and a combination of work/personal story for the last essay. Hope this helps, g'luck.

But to elaborate, make sure you have a good mix of work and non-work essays. Depending on your job function, you might want to have more of one than the other.
For example, I'm an engineer, working in a slow industry, so I would say 60-70% of my essays are about non-work achievements, and the rest are work related linked to my goals and why MBA essay.
If you're in the non-profit or public sector, I would reverse the percentage because you'll have lots of very interesting things to say about your work and leadership/responsibilities there.
Just my take on it.
