Here's another option:

If x is even, let x = 0 and see what happens.

A. [(0)(Y)]^Y = 0 (EVEN - ELIMINATE)
B. 0³Y³ = 0 (EVEN - ELIMINATE)
C. 0³ = 0 (EVEN - ELIMINATE)
D. (0)Y = 0 (EVEN - ELIMINATE)
E. Y²
