D is best
Need 'expose...to'. A, B & C are out.
E is ambiguous in saying 'by exposing...'

Correct Usage is Expose to. So it has to be either D or E.

Now D is suggesting that fine is imposed fine on campers who fial to lock their car at night and another group of people who expose their car.

It changes the meaning. Original sentece is actually trying to give a reason why campers who fail to lock thier care will be fined.

E does that job.

So I will pick E.

Really strange.

D can't be the answer since D distorts the meaning of the sentence by implying that there are two groups of campers who are fined.

However, it's just "cause & effect", not two separate items.
- cause = leave the car open
- effect = exposal to bears

However, the other 4 choices are explicitly wrong, and so I am left with D only.

Boy..none of the answers looks correct to me..can't even hazard a guess...but on exam day...verry reluctantly, I would have clicked on A...ya yaa I know it is exposed 'to'

I would go with D. Don't see that meaning is changed to two groups who are fined. Any way, "by exposing" does not sound right.

A - 'exposing their cars and other campers with' is not idiomatic
B - 'towards scavenging bears' is not idiomatic
C - same problem as A
E - changes meaning of sentence

D is the best choice.

D should be. You can eliminate all the others answer so that the meaning be correct.

grammatically D is correct.

somehow I felt it changed the meaning of the original sentence.
In yellow stone and in other parks, if you do not lock your car then
bears might come in and search for food in the car therefore causing
danger to campers.

In other words, "expose their cars" is a result of not locking the car and
not a parallel action by itself.

Yellowstone National Park officials have begun to fine those campers who fail to lock their cars at night, exposing their cars and other campers with scavenging bears.

A. ""
B. night and expose their cars and other campers towards
C. night, and expose their cars and other campers with
D. night and who expose their cars and other campers to
E. night, by exposing their cars and other campers to

D because it maintains parallelism and " expose sth to" is correct.
