I say matriculate at Yale as well. For these reasons:

1. Yale is a GREAT school
2. Your promotion at work isn't guaranteed so as a reapp if you don't show your growth as a candidate you will have an even harder time getting in. Although if you think you can get a higher GMAT score, you might want to retake the test and try to get off a waitlist that way.
3. You said so yourself - you're the master of your own career path. Yale will bring pretty much the same recruiters as the other schools that didn't work out for you so make the most out of your time at Yale and don't look back.

just my 2c.

Carriedinterest - I have a similar profile as yours, have the same career goals, applied to basically the same schools with the same humbling outcome, and had the same doubts. At the end of the day, i decided to matriculate due to the reasons outlined by UpIntheAir and EBSIFounder

Was reading through this on my iPhone and accidentally deleted my original post! Oops.

Thanks for the responses. I tend to agree with all that's been said. I'll go to welcome weekend to conduct a final round of due diligence, and very likely submit my deposit shortly thereafter.

Dayzbanker - we'll have to meet up when we get settled in New Haven.
