Interesting article. I found this line interesting "Fundamentally, we are in a market for talent,"
I think schools are always looking to build a diverse class profile so programs like the 2+2 locks in the best of the best for the younger portion of their class. I'd be surprised though if a large majority of members of an MBA class are coming into it with very little work or managerial experience.

Based on the collaborative nature of the curriculum in business school, I don't see the value in filling classes with inexperienced applicants. There's a lot of maturity to be gained through a few years of post-undergrad experience. That being said, I think the HBS 2+2 program is great. True go-getters can get plenty of experience in 2 years, after which they should be well prepared for the MBA.

Though I am a younger applicant myself, I strongly believe that an MBA without work experience would hold much less value than one with work experience. At least for me - it might be different for other people. Which is why programs like the 2+2 program are so appealing - they give you two years to gain that work experience and help you progress on a track much faster than you normally would have, while providing a good focal point for your energy and effort.
