At the end of the question it mentions: "Exactly two of the items she buys are made of the same kind of wood as each other."

In choice A, there are 3 items that are made of maple, and thus this option is no good.

How is (a) wrong? maple footstool and maple table is correct. (e) violates the rule 'Any rosewood item she buys is a sideboard'

Nidzo
(A) maple footstool, maple hutch, rosewood sideboard, maple table - ELIMINATE: If lrene buys a footstool, she also buys a table made of the same wood. In this choice we have a footstool and table made of different woods.

(B) oak hutch, rosewood sideboard, pine table, oak vanity - ELIMINATE: Exactly two of the items she buys are made of the same kind of wood as each other. Here we have four different kinds of wood.

(C) rosewood hutch, maple sideboard, oak table, maple vanity - ELIMINATE: Any rosewood item she buys is a sideboard. Here we have a rosewood hutch.

(D) pine footstool, rosewood sideboard, pine table, maple vanity - ELIMINATE: If she buys a vanity, she does not buy a footstool. Here we have both a vanity and a footstool.

(E) maple footstool, pine hutch, oak sideboard, maple table - KEEP: Nothing here contradicts any of the "rules" set out in the question stem.

In option B, there are two materials made of the same wood, an Oak hutch and an Oak vanity, then why not B?
