I am certain that this question has been asked a zillion times here, but I wasn't able to find anything specific to my situation. I am trying to figure out if Baruch (Zicklin) would be a good enough option for me to get a part-time MBA or should I really aim for NYU Stern.
I work in the Healthcare industry in an IT position and I think I am quite well positioned. I do not intend to change industries but I can always find a job outside of Healthcare since I work in technology and I have the option to do that any where, including good consulting positions. I am hoping to start in Fall 2013 and my main goal is to learn - coming from a technical background, I really want to learn the business aspect of things and understand concepts related to Accounting, Marketing, and Strategy. I am not sure if a great network would help me so much in this case...and so I wonder if I should really spend twice the money to go to NYU or is Baruch good enough!
Any ideas, suggestions, comments would be welcome!

Baruch is an excellent program, especially when you consider its cost. Especially since you are not changing careers, I consider this choice to be wise on many fronts. Also, I think you are going to find the program much better than you expect -- the students are smart, the facilities are impressive and the faculty is accomplished.

Thanks for the response! One of my main concerns also is the very local name that Baruch has. I see that I could relocate outside of the tri-state area in the near future and almost anywhere I go, even on the east coast, I am almost certain that no one would even recognize the name Baruch/Zicklin, much less have an opinion about the prestige of the program.
Does it really matter so much to have a brand name behind you in such a case?
