Hi All,
I have 5 years exp in analytics - 3 years in marketing and 2 years in risk.
I want to move to consulting and would prefer digital consulting like advanced analytics.
I know the MBB have their digital arm and they are expanding but not sure how good they really are.
Keeping this in mind, do you think digital consulting is an underwhelming goal ? Do I need to reassess my goals post mba

MBB is the elite consulting of anything. Whatever is growing that's what they are expanding. They have pioneered a lot of things including outsourcing and things like that, many of which they no longer do really since other consulting companies do that on a massive scale (e.g. Accenture has a huge tech/digital arm).
It will be very challenging to get in at post-MBA level (or any level really but esp the post-MBA one). I am not sure if you are a US person or International but it is 1 to 10 or 1 to 20 chances of getting into MBB as an international - basically as low as Stanford and somewhat better as a US person (not because they are favored but the client-readiness skills tend to be better among the domestic applicants).
I am not sure if this is your application goal or a personal goal but MBB is always a lofty one for many of us.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. Yes I am an international student. I mentioned digital consulting in advanced analytics as I am already in analytics and also have client exposure. Do you think it is difficult to break into consulting post MBA in MBB or consulting in general? Thanks in advance.
